Ask a member of the polling staff for assistance

If you have a disability or other support needs, you can ask a polling staff member for assistance at the voting location.

They can help you put your ballot papers in ballot envelopes, for example. Polling staff have a duty of secrecy and are not allowed to tell anyone how you have voted.

Assistance at the polling booth: a polling staff member must be present

A personal assistant or someone else can accompany you if you need support. But if you need assistance at the polling booth or at the ballot paper display rack, a member of the polling staff must also be present.

Accessibility at the voting location

All voting locations must be accessible to people with disabilities. But if you cannot access a voting location, the polling staff can take receipt of your vote outside.

Information about the accessibility of voting locations

Accessibility information will be included in the details we will publish about voting locations.

We will publish this information during the second quarter of 2026.

Contact your municipality if you have any questions

For information about the assistance and adaptations available at your voting location, you can contact your municipality before voting in the 2026 elections.
